| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The Maxxum 3 DATE is the world's smallest and lightest AF SLR, yet it is fully equipped for high performance with one of the fastest autofocus speeds in its class, 14-segment exposure metering, subject program selection, ADI flash metering, and wireless remote flash control. In addition, it uses the same type focusing screen as Minolta's top-of-the-line Maxxums 9 and 7, for exceptionally bright and clear viewfinder images. Plus, the Maxxum 3 DATE accepts all Minolta/Maxxum AF lenses for outstanding photographic potential and image quality.

| Customer Reviews: great camera March 25, 2004 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
This camera takes perfect pictures. Every little detail in the photo is crystal clear. I can't believe how horrible all my pictures from my previous camera look compared to the pictures that the maxxum 3 takes. I highly recommend this camera.

Excellent camera November 11, 2004 Halima (Houston, TX USA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this camera because I love to take pictures. I started using the camera and I loved the way the pictures are so sharp and detailed. This camera is now attached to my hip and I take it everywhere now. Very good buy for the amateur or expert.
Severely limiting November 22, 2008 J. Burns (Hunts Vegas, Texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've owned one for a good 6 years now (give or take) and it's a decent camera for the point and shoot minded photographer. While being an SLR, it's still a fully automatic camera. This means no light meter, no adjusting of aperture or shutter speed and little control in the way of adjusting for situations. It's the type of camera that a user will quickly grow out of. I personally found myself using it as a tourism camera, with a Cannon AE-1 for serious projects (until a more modern Rebel replaced them both).
It's a funny camera really. It has the capability to look serious until you notice it has only 5 buttons (one being a redundant autofocus button), and the camera is also very light and compact. I've noticed if the film is not put in juuust right, it can sometimes auto-rewind after a shot or two. It's no fun having to dig out negatives and/or throw away a couple shots sometimes.
I was honestly just a kid when I bought the camera, but I wish I took my money to something else now.
Beware refurbished Maxxum 3's April 26, 2005 H. Peterson 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought a factory refurbished Maxxum 3 and immediately regretted it. Both rolls of film I tried, it spontaneously rewound the film after taking 4-5 pictures! Nice.
